Simone Rocha has talked about her decision to move from Ireland to London to launch her clothing design career, and believes she wouldn't have been successful in her home country.

The daughter of John Rocha, Dublin-born Simone's career has flourished since her move to London two-and-a-half years ago.

She has since collaborated with high street giant Topshop and luxury department store Selfridges.

She said: "Obviously these opportunities wouldn't have been here at home. What I love about London is the sheer amount of inspiration available at all times, and the accessibility of the fashion industry."

Although the clothing designer believes she would not have achieved the same success at home, she still looks to Ireland for inspiration.

The Evening Herald quotes her as saying: "I go back to Ireland for my creative inspiration. I look to Irish traditions, like the pony kids and the tradition of the Aran Islands."
