We caught up with Indigo & Cloth owner Garret Pitcher to get the lowdown on the hottest trends for guys this winter, what key pieces to have in your wardrobe, and what clothing to invest in.
What are the top trends for guys this season?
The top trend is heritage by which there is no trend. Guys are buying well made and timeless product more than anytime in the past. Of course they can mix and match with high-street but they are also looking at heritage brands to offer quality so that they have that same piece for many years to come. I think you will see more denim, heavy wool knits and coats than ever this fall.
What are the key pieces that every man should have in his wardrobe?
I think you will see more denim, heavy wool knits and coats than ever this fall. Everyone is talking denim-on-denim which if done correctly (indigo dry denim on bottom, light chambray shirt on top) looks really well. This can be layered with heavy shawl collar knit and say a duffel or wax jacket.
When shopping, what do you recommend investing in - and what can you scrimp on?
Invest in above, a good jean, knit and coat. Scrimp on t-shirts,underwear and accessories which help but don't make a look.
