The wedding dress expected to be featured in the new Harry Potter film bears a striking resemblance to a dress from Alexander McQueen’s fall 2008 ready-to-wear collection.

According to Elle, part one of 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' will portray the wedding of the characters Fleur Delacour and Bill Weasley.

Jany Temime, costume designer for the 'Harry Potter' movie, described the dress: “Fleur’s dress is made in organza and decorated with a pair of phoenixes that face one another on the bodice and form the silhouette of a heart."

She added: “I chose the phoenix because, like love, it is eternal.”

Alexander McQueen displayed this similar frock on the runway, with a pair of cutout black lace peacocks fanning their tails out over ivory tulle petticoats.

Though Temime has not confirmed the origin or inspiration for the dress’s design, no one can deny the similarities between the two.
