Stella McCartney is set to design the Adidas competition wear for the 2012 Olympic Games.
The British designer will create the label's athlete kit for Britain's national Olympic and Paralympic teams.
McCartney said of her new appointment to the Vogue website: "As a British fashion designer it is an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be creative director of Team GB as the hosting nation of the London 2012 Olympic Games."
This marks the first time a high-end designer has designed sportswear for the Olympic Games.
McCartney has previously designed a sports-inspired performance collection for the brand, which is called adidas by Stella McCartney.
