Agyness Deyn's debut film 'Acid Burn' won an award at an American film festival.
The film was awarded best foreign short at the Kent Film Festival in Connecticut.
Director Matt Greenhalgh, who also directed the Ian Curtis biopic 'Control', talked about the model's film career potential.
Greenhalgh said to the Manchester Evening News: "She has the makings of being a brilliant actress. There was none of that supermodel flakiness you hear about, she was just really down-to-earth and she brought that to the job every day. I think if she plays her cards right, her acting career could be even more fulfilling than her modeling career."
In the film, Deyn played a school girl who has gotten caught up in the party scene. It will be shown in Manchester as part of the 24/7 Theatre Festival this summer, reports the Vogue website.
