London based designer Kate Halfpenny created Pixie Lott's Brit Awards dress, which she wore to the ceremony on Tuesday night.
The designer talked to Vogue.com about creating the dress for Lott: "It was a pleasure working with Pixie on creating her Brits awards gown. I'm so lucky I get to work with such great people.
"It's nice to design for such a new, fresh music artist. We wanted to do something really young and fun, and Pixie loves the BAFTA dress I created for Emilia Fox that was beautiful and backless. This time it was about creating something that was really elegant but still young."
Halfpenny went on to talk about how the idea for the dress came about: "The inspiration for the dress evolved organically from Pixie and I brainstorming, and a lot of it developed during the fitting. It turned from a plain V-neck into something more elaborate, using French lace, which adds a very vintage element. I often get inspiration from Norman Parkinson photographs."
Triple nominated Lott wore the forties-inspired dress with a Louis Vuitton clutch, bright pink lipstick and Marcel waves in her hair.
