French designer Roland Mouret has revealed that Beyonce Knowles has inspired his new designs.

His form-fitting dresses are known for their calf-length hems, but recently he has released a series of frocks with a higher hemline on net-a-porter.com.

Mouret claims his decision to start raising the hemline was inspired by the popstar.

He said to FabSugar.com: "In a funny way, the first one that did that for me was Beyonce. This season, where my length was mid-calf, she asked to raise the hem.

"I said, ‘You really inspire me, because it's nice to see that kind of attitude," he continued.

He also said that the original longer-length designs were for women who "don't want to show the legs, because they don't like the leg", but the new shorter style are for women who want to flash their pins.
