To give skin an extra boost this winter, the Aqua Beauty salon in Stillorgan, Co. Dublin is a great place to start.
The salon offers an extensive range of facials for different skin types, including the Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Treatment (€65; 75mins) which I had read about before visiting the salon and really wanted to try out.
The facial wasn't suitable for my skin type, being used to treat sun-damaged skin and fine lines, so the therapist recommended going for the Dermalogica customised treatment (€60; 75mins).
The treatment opened with a foot cleanse with hot towels. Next my skin was cleansed twice and 'Face mapped', meaning the therapist studied my skin to see which areas to target.
Then my skin was exfoliated, and I was treated to a foot massage and acupressure massage.
Following this, a serum and tailored mask were applied to my face, and removed with hot towels. To finish off the treatment, a moisturiser and eye cream were applied.
The treatment was an utterly relaxing experience, with moments where I could feel myself slipping off into sleep, and my skin looked miles better after. It was plumped, clear and glowing - and the effect lasted for days after.
The price point for such an indulgent treatment is very fair, and there are monthly promotions on at the moment, and student specials.
Plus, November sees the 10th year since the salon's opening, and for the whole month you can avail of a great pampering package. It includes a full body massage and a customised facial from Dermalogica, at the special price of €100.
