This week, Jordan, or Katie Price, or whatever we are supposed to call her these days, releases her 23rd book. Her 23rd!
The former glamour model has now written more books than Dickens. To add to three autobiographies, four novels, and twenty-five books for children, she has now brought out a style book – yes – a style book. Be afraid, be very afraid
She is currently preparing to release her latest book Standing Out: My Look, My Style, My Life.
Out this week, it traces the history of her different looks, as well as offering fans' advice on make-up and plastic surgery. Katie Price's fashion sense isn't everyone's cup of tea but that hasn't put her off bringing out her very own fashion guide. The book is her distinctive take on clothes, make-up and erm, sex on a first date.
How many women will choose to follow her example, however, is quite another matter.
In the book Katie "Opens up her make-up bag and throws open the doors to her wardrobe". No mystery about her make-up bag, judging by the author photograph, which shows her wearing enormous false lashes, about a gallon of lip gloss and a head full of jet black hair extensions.
Her alter ego Jordan made her name from the lack of clothes she wore, and as Katie Price her spectacular array of outfits has fallen into the category of in-your-face garishness.
'From my early teens I've been an exhibitionist and from the time I started senior school I was desperate to look different. I've always gone for clothes that make me stand out, rather than blend in with the rest of the crowd”, she says.
It is quite hard to know who the subject of the joke here is: the author, at the hands of her publisher, or perhaps just the book-buying public. Anyway, I can tell you that this latest offering will constitute many of my Christmas presents this year.
Though it must be said, apart from drag queen RuPaul, I can't think of a single human being who could even begin to take style advice from the glamour model turned reality star.
