As Brand Beckham she's been plugging other designers for a decade; now Victoria Beckham's transition to creative force in the fashion world is complete

She's come a long way from hair extensions, hot pants and logo t-shirts. Now with her latest collection of dresses, Mrs Beckham has sartorially come of age.

And this season her collection will be stocked at Brown Thomas, meaning we can buy a slice of VB, at a price ranging from €900 up to €5,000. BTs is one of only 15 worldwide stores with the rights to sell the autumn/winter collection, already worn by Elle MacPherson and Katherine Jenkins.

The launch of Beckham's second range has also earned the praise of big names including Alexander McQueen and Oscar de La Renta, not to mention fashion bible Vogue. The collection includes her signature hourglass silhouette in rich winter hues of deep purple, claret and pewter.

The customized dresses with frill trims and below-the-knee hemlines, also offer nostalgic femininity. Unveiling the collection, Victoria said: "For autumn/winter 2009, I wanted to explore new design basics such as peplum bustles and strong shoulder details as well as a array of dress lengths."

Mrs Beckham started out in the fashion world in 2004, designing a signature line of jeans for Rock and Republic.

Her A/W collection was introduced to the fashion set at the annual Brown Thomas ISPCC luncheon at the Four Seasons on Saturday. Guests were also given a sneak preview of some of the pieces the store will soon stock. Included was a flirtatious Dolce & Gabanna's leopard print dress, pictured, priced at €2,650.
