Pregnancy Wedding Dress

I'm getting married in September and I’d always dreamed of a romantic fairytale dress. I'll be six months pregnant by my wedding day, so I’m having a few problems finding a dress to fit and flatter - on a budget. I'd rather not look too obviously pregnant, so where can I find a dress with a romantic feel that won't cling to my bump?

Even though it's hard to judge what size and shape you'll be then, start looking for an outfit in the summer sales so you can consider designer labels that might otherwise be out of your price range.

The Anoushka collection at House of Frazer in Dundrum is stunning and the prices have been slashed, with most gowns coming in at about €500. They have a selection of crème and white evening dresses that, honestly, look more beautiful than many of the designer wedding dresses that I’ve seen.

The empire line styles would suit you best and the layers of chiffon and tulle will help flatter your bump. Also, the rhinestone embellishment detail at the cleavage will help draw attention upwards and, therefore, will minimize your belly.

There are a number of empire-line, shift and trapeze-shape dresses around this summer that should suit your needs perfectly. My choices would be Monsoon bridal and Debenhams, as both labels have many items with a pretty empire-line silhouette which will suit your figure

I’d also recommend popping into Oxfam Bridal on Georges street – it can be a bit hit and miss but the stock is incredible and so are the prices!

As you are on a tight budget, try the smarter end of the high street: check out Whistles and Coast, which has a glass-beaded white shift dress. And look for special accessories and shoes to lift your outfit.
