Amy Martin's singing career started off with the TV show ‘Diary of a Rising Star’ followed by the release of her debut single ‘Got Ur Number‘, which made the Top 10 in the Irish Singles Charts last year.
She is studying for her Leaving Cert and is also working on her hotly awaited debut album. We caught up with Irish pop's rising star for a quick fashion fix.
Do you experiment with your look?
Yes, I always try new ideas and try to mix and match them with what’s in my wardrobe! Fashion is supposed to be fun after all!
Who is your fashion icon or your greatest influence in matters of style?
I love Cheryl Cole from Girls Aloud for her up to the minute fashion looks and Sienna Miller for her bohemian and eclectic style.
What is you essential beauty item that must be in your handbag?
MAC "smoulder" Eyeliner - it’s my essential beauty buy!
What is your favourite item of clothing that you've ever purchased?
My favourite item has to be my UGGS without a doubt, winter or summer!
They may not be the most glamorous items but they certainly are comfy!
How important is fashion in the world of music?
It is so important because your image defines you as an Artist, so that’s something that I’m always very aware of.
Who's your favourite designer? And your favourite high street store?
My favourite designer is Louboutin for his awesome heels! My favourite high street store is TOPSHOP!
What is you favourite city to shop in and why?
Definitely LONDON- Selfridges, TOPSHOP, Oxford Street, Carnaby Street and American Apparel are all within a few minutes of each other - absolute Heaven!
What do you feel best wearing?
Lipsy Dresses and 5" Heels!
What's the best style advice you have been given?
Don't over-style and buy what suits you, not what’s in fashion!
