Jessica Simpson has announced that she’s launching a range of clothing created to flatter every shape and size. The singer – whose fuller figure has recently been the subject of much debate
- has designed a range of dresses to suit any body size.

Completely impassive to the recent criticism over her womanly curves, she is forging ahead with her new fashion line, which now includes a fresh range of jewellery, lingerie and her premiere line of spring dresses.

28 year old Jessica became the centre of a media blitz surrounding her recent weight gain when she was clicked in Florida last week wearing high-waisted jeans and a tight black tank top.

The pictures of her new, fuller figure prompted predictably hysterical headlines. "Is Jessica fat or just curvy?" asked Heat magazine, adding that she has become "a global talking point".

The magazine 'Us' had planned on running a photo of the Obama family on the cover of their current issue, but replaced the first family with a story about Jessica Simpson's "Weight-Gate."

But instead of allowing herself to be crushed by the negative publicity, she has challenged the size 0 ideal saying that she’s perfectly happy with her size 12 figure.

As she herself admitted: "Curves are better. I don't get the whole rake thing. It's not good for your heart. It is emotionally destructive."

I think that a lot of women would be very happy to look even half as good as Jessica and given the recent press about her fluctuating size, the launch of her new female friendly clothing range is nothing less than a stroke of genius.

She said: "I want to create clothes that flatter every figure. I know how a dress can make you feel so frumpy. I promise mine won't.

"We want to reach every type of person - and we do. But mainly I'm all about you wearing the dress, not the dress wearing you."

Jessica - who already has her own successful shoe range - has urged women to embrace their curves and wear something that makes them feel sexy.

She added to InStyle magazine: "I know what flatters a woman, and trust me, I've been judged a lot in my life. By now I know what works if you're curvy."
