I eagerly anticipated the launch of Shiseido’s new range of lipsticks and lip pencils, Perfect Rouge, which were developed by renowned makeup artist, and Shiseido’s Artistic Director Dick Page.
I was already a big fan of their lipsticks, my favourite shade being their Perfecting Lipstick in Red Cool, a coral red that goes on sheer but can be layered for more intense colour.
With Perfect Rouge, Dick Page has created a range of twenty lipsticks divided into two categories, "everyday wardrobe"and "surprising" colours. The former are simple, chic and easily wearable while the latter are for making a statement with your look.
I tried 'Bubblegum', as the name suggests it is a pretty, vibrant pink. The formula is heavily pigmented so it achieves a true colour on the lips, and it smoothes on easily, leaving lips looking hydrated. There is a warm, gold undertone to the shade which gives it a fun and sweet look.
For a pop of even more vibrant colour, the 'Valentine' shade is perfect. It is a classic, bright blue red that is sophisticated and sharp.
To compliment the range there are seven new smoothing lip pencils, ranging from a pinky beige to a rich coffee brown. I tried the 'Siren' which is a vivid, sensual red that is perfect for creating dramatic lips.
The formula adheres to lips without drying them out, or smudging over time. An added bonus is the inbuilt brush, which allows you to blend the liner or apply lipstick over it.
