Tinted moisturisers are a great go-to for giving skin a boost, without having to go to the hassle of applying foundation.
Great for daytime, they are a fuss-free way to even out skin tone and add a youthful glow to the skin.
They are especially useful coming into spring/summer as many contain an SPF and are light enough so you don't feel as though you're wearing any make-up at all.
You can also thin out your foundation with a dab of tinted moisturiser to add more of a glow to your skin.
Here are some of my favourite tinted moisturisers that I've tried from a variety of brands.
Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturiser
Bobbi Brown’s beautiful tinted moisturiser is the ideal alternative to foundation to give a natural finish.
Formulated with an SPF 15, the moisturiser blends smoothly into skin giving it comfortable and sheer coverage.
The ultra-light texture makes it a dream to apply and wear.
Comes in eight shades so you’re sure to find one to match your skin tone.
Suitable for normal to dry skin types.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser
Laura Mercier’s excellent tinted moisturisers provide gorgeous and natural coverage. There are three formulas – Tinted Moisturiser, Oil-Free Tinted Moisturiser and Illuminating Tinted Moisturiser.
They are fool-proof in their application, just squeeze a dab onto fingertips and blend until it has sunk into the skin. I find them to smooth out uneven skin tone effortlessly, but give a totally natural, sheer look. You can also build up coverage by layering the product.
The finish is quite matte with the normal tinted moisturiser, so if you want a more radiant look – go for their new range of illuminating tinted moisturisers. These contain tiny particles to give the complexion a pretty glow and warm up your skin tone. As an added bonus, they all contain an SPF 20.

Vichy Lumineuse Sheer Radiance Tinted Moisturiser
Vichy’s sheer radiance tinted moisturiser comes in two formulas – one for dry skin the other for normal/combination.
Both contain Vitamin A, Provitamine B5 and natural fruit acids which stimulate the cellular renewal process and bring radiance to the skin.
The tinted moisturisers give a satin smooth finish and are a dream to apply.
As with all Vichy products they are made with Vichy thermal spa water, are tested by dermatologists and are hypo-allergenic.

Aveda Inner Light Tinted Moisture
Aveda’s oil-free tinted moisturiser nurtures the skin while feeling lightweight.
Skin feels natural and soft, and looks smooth and evenly toned.
Contains an SPF 15 to protect skin from the sun, too.
The dewy finish is fresh and youthful, and it is surprisingly long lasting. Comes in six shades ranging from fair to deep.
Available from Aveda counters nationwide, €36.50.
Clarins Hydra-Care Tinted Moisturiser
The Clarins tinted moisturiser is part of their Hydra-Care range for skin which aims to specifically bring hydration to the skin.
It gives a smooth, even look to the complexion while protecting against UV rays with an SPF 6, pollution and free radicals.
Gives a great, luminous finish while minimizing imperfections.
Available from Clarins counters nationwide, €31.14.
Sisley Botanical Tinted Moisturiser
Sisley’s tinted moisturiser helps even out the complexion and gives skin a radiant look.
It provides extra nourishment for the skin, containing natural plant extracts and essential oils.
Suitable for all skin types, this gentle product is sure to enhance your complexion while giving it an extra moisture boost.

Benefit You Rebel
Benefit’s You Rebel tinted moisturiser comes in two shades – one for light skin tones and another for darker complexions.
I use the ‘You Rebel lite’ and find it to be a great product for creating a gorgeous, glowing complexion.
The shade is very flattering and suited to a good range of skin tones, like their ‘Some Kinda Gorgeous’ foundation faker.
The tinted moisturiser contains an SPF 15 as well as soothing aloe, antioxidant Vitamin E and Vitamin A – giving skin protection and nutrients all in one!
