Daughter of designer John Rocha, Simone Rocha is a talented clothes designer in her own right. Having graduated from Fashion Design in NCAD, she now resides in London. Here are some of her thoughts on fashion.

You're clearly a fan of fashion. Do you enjoy experimenting with your look?

It’s great to play with different elements of fashion, mixing garments and bits and pieces that wouldn’t usually go together creating something new. It’s nice not to be the same as everyone else.

Who is your fashion icon or your greatest influence in matters of style?

My mother is my fashion icon, also amazing women like Patti Smith and Louise Bourgeois.

What is your essential beauty item that must be in your handbag at all times?

Caramax.

What is your favourite item of clothing that you've ever purchased?

A vintage petticoat from a market in Paris

How important is fashion in the world of the music/film industry?

I think it is so important as music, film and fashion are all creative artforms. Each feed into one another. They all need elements of each other to play off.

How would you describe your personal style?

A mix of masculine and feminine.

Who is your favourite designer? And your favourite high street store?

At the moment, Comme des Garcons also Ann Demeulemeester.
High Street best is Topshop.

What is your favourite city to shop in and why?

Paris, for the flea markets.

What do you feel best wearing?

Black.

What is the best style advice you have been given?

Wear something you're comfortable in.
