Dr Susan McCormick, Assistant Professor in Music Education, School of Education, Trinity College Dublin is here to help all you Leaving Cert Music students.
The Study Hub regular returned to the RTÉ Radio studios to share her expert tips on all things Music on Today with David McCullagh.
It might seem like something you hear a lot, but Susan says: "Read the question. It's so important before the music starts in the listening paper. You do not want to be distracted when the music starts. All of your focus should be on opening those ears and listening. So read the questions before, underline, highlight, whatever it might be.
"Check what it's asking you for. Is it asking you to identify or is it asking you to describe? Describe requires more info. So make sure you provide sufficient information there specifically in relation to the track that you're listening to."
