It's getting into the strange part of the Leaving Certificate when a lot are finished and some have more to do. That's the case today for our Leaving Cert Diary contributors.
Mohammad wrapped it all up with Chemistry while Shannon is still going strong. Read her views on Chemistry Higher Level below.

With thanks to our friends at the Irish Second-Level Students' Union we will continue the Leaving Cert Diary series throughout the exams.
It's the place where young people tell us what they thought in their own words.
Shannon asks: "Oh, will it never end?"
Two weeks in (and another to go), I finally have one of my heftiest subjects done - Chemistry. Even with
the mountains of preparation I've put in, my stomach was churning going into the exam centre.
Through some divine intervention, though, it turned out to be quite a nice paper, in my opinion. I
couldn’t believe my luck when ethyne came up for the organic experiments - after all that worrying
over eugenol and benzoic acid and - God forbid - soap.
The short questions were manageable, if slightly strangely worded...that second ionisation energy one
had me scratching my head for a moment.
It was a paper dominated by fundamentals, I think: atomic theory, electronegativity, everything that’s
supposed to be drilled into us. The organic families question threw me for a loop as they always do,
but I found the water section very manageable, and I even managed to dredge up some answers for the
dreaded electrolysis question.
Overall, I’m pleased with Chemistry, and I hope the rest of you are too. Congratulations to those
finished today and good luck to the rest of us with a few left!
