Incredible Edibles: Learn where your food comes from at school and grow your own too!

It's not too early to start thinking about Christmas dinner, but do you know where your food comes from? Thanks to the new and improved Incredible Edibles programme from Agri Aware you can learn all about food in the classroom - you can even grow your own. Primary schools across the country are invited take part in another exciting year of growing, learning, and healthy eating.

This year there are exciting new tasks, content, great prizes and we have some more exciting instalments on the way. There are more ways than ever for schools to get involved through quizzes and the School of the Month competition.

At the end of term, students are invited to submit one class project at the end of term to showcase what they've learned. The possibilities are endless, and submissions can be in the form of a poem, story, artwork, video, or presentation!

Last year, the programme saw over 72,000 students participate across Ireland. The programme features four key tasks, including Tracing Our Food's Journey, Sowing & Growing, Roots to Recipes, and Balanced Bites. At the end of the term, students will submit one project per class that reflects on their learning. This can take the form of a poem, story, artwork, video, or presentation.

Now in its 19th year, the Incredible Edibles programme teaches primary school students about the benefits of eating Irish-grown produce and understanding where their food comes from, all through hands-on participation in growing their own fruit and vegetables at school.
