Episode 6 reinforces the series' core goals by giving students the opportunity to put theory into practice. By the end of this challenge, students will:

  • Understand how interconnected systems work within their school and the impact of sustainable choices.
  • Identify a sustainability issue within their school and plan a project to address it.
  • Use technology, creativity, and collaboration to implement their solution.

The Code Green Challenge Plan 📋

Students will go through a guided process to brainstorm, plan, and organize their sustainability projects. They'll work in teams to select an area of their school that could be improved for sustainability and develop a step-by-step plan for making it greener. Each team will consider how their chosen project area impacts other parts of the school and how they can use technology like the micro:bit, MakeCode Arcade, or GenAI to bring their ideas to life.

Throughout this long-term project, students will track their progress, set achievable goals, and brainstorm solutions to potential challenges. This approach helps them not only create a positive impact but also learn the value of teamwork, project management, and adaptability.
