Are you ready for What's Next?

Launching during Science Week - it's time for What's Next? On the new show from RTÉ Kids, bright young minds from across Ireland go head to head in a fun-filled competition to come up with great new ideas that could save the planet.

What's Next? Thursdays at 5.30pm and streaming now on RTE Player!

The big question over the six shows is will these kids have what it takes to impress the What's Next? judge, brilliant young Irish inventor and entrepreneur Fionn Ferreira? Can they hold their nerve in the pitches and sell their ideas when it matters?

Adam, Demi and MC are here to help!

But these these young disruptors are not on their own. The youngsters will team up with a celebrity researcher; social media star Adam Beales, actress Demi Isaac Oviawe, and comedian MC Fitzpatrick. Together the teams are tasked with coming up with an original innovation to take on the problems facing the planet.

Each episode focuses on a new challenge; fast fashion, food, transportation, waste and homes. Across the series contestants compete for the chance to be crowned What's Next? champion, win the golden brainbox and get to pitch their idea to a real life millionaire investor.

To help them get some inspiration, the researchers head out across Ireland and the UK to find out about existing innovations, including flying boats, sugar-bricks and clothing made from mushrooms. After gathering inspiration, they return to the workshop where it's a race against time to brainstorm with their teammates and develop their own idea for What’s Next?

It's a competition

The series culminates in a Grand Final, where the Disruptor with the winning idea from each episode battles it out to be crowned What’s Next? Champion and gets the chance to take their idea to prototype stage and pitch it to a real life millionaire investor.

And, while the contestants on the show are working on their ideas, we want youe to get involved too and tell us your great idea to take climate action.
