Yoga
Today, Múinteoir (or Yogi!) Ray told us about ancient belief that each of us have 7 chakras inside of us.
A chakra is an area in the body where there are nerve bundles or important organs, like the brain or the heart. Each chakra is linked to a different aspect of our feelings and sense of well-being.
We learned how to "tune in" to our own Chakras, in order to check in with how we are feeling.
Let's refresh our memories on what we learned now – circle the correct answer in each sentence.
1 Chakra translates to mountain / wheel in the ancient language called Sanskrit.
2 Chakras are associated with yoga / soccer.
3 The root chakra is located in the base of the hand / spine.
4 When this chakra is closed / open, we feel confident in our ability to face challenges and stand on our own two feet.
5 The Navel Chakra relates to relates to loneliness / creativity.
6 A blocked Navel chakra can lead to feeling of a loss of awareness / control.
7 The throat chakra relates to how we express ourselves and our ability to sleep / communicate.
8 The Third Eye / Heart Chakra controls our ability to see the big picture.

Sometimes, if one of our chakras are blocked, we can feel a little "off-balance".
A great way to regain this sense of balance and calm our minds is Yoga – an exercise very much associated with Chakras. Have a go at the following yoga moves.
Hold each one for a count of ten before moving on. Be careful to move gently and not push your body too hard!
How do you feel now? Do you feel stronger or weaker? Do you feel calm or stressed?

Did you know?
There is a version of yoga called Doga – can you guess what that is?
The first three letters of the word Doga should give you a clue! Yes, it involves dogs! It means that people bring their dogs to yoga classes, so that dogs can take part too!
People who love Doga say that there are lots of benefits of dog yoga – that their dog's posture improves, they sleep better and help with any stress the dog is feeling.
