Running from Saturday, 28 February to Friday, 6 March 2026, STEPS Engineers Week celebrates the engineers who design, build, test, and improve the world around us. Engineering is a fascinating discipline that students of all ages will enjoy exploring.
Engineers Ireland's STEPS programme has made a range of interesting and engaging resources and activities freely available to primary school teachers and students to spark conversation and promote learning.

But, for starters, here are 7 spectacular engineering resources that are free to watch, download and use in the classroom.
1. Engineering the weather
Watch Mark the Science Guy go on a wild engineering ride through storms and tornadoes as he discovers how important engineers are in monitoring and managing the weather.
2. Múinteoir Valerie
Múinteoir Valerie has curated a suite of resources for primary school educators, including a mini-series on how to introduce engineering at school.
3. Resources as Gaeilge
We are also celebrating Sechtain na Gaeilge so there are great resources – in Irish! Tá a lán ghníomhaíochtaí againn as Gaeilge le haghaidh Seachtain na nInnealtóirí! Is é seo an áit chun iad a fheiceáil.
4. Engineering in our lives: Video and Workbook
Engineering in our Lives is a short, animated video with an accompanying workbook that illustrates how engineering is all around us – from our toothpaste to our train to school!

5. Meet an engineer!
Join the Microsoft Dream Space Team on Monday 2 March for an exciting live virtual event where students will meet a real-life engineer and take part in a coding-inspired activity that anyone can join! Through an interactive lesson, Q&A, and hands-on STEM activities, students will explore problem-solving, innovation, and creativity in a fun and engaging way.
6. Twinkl time!
Ever wanted to design a rollercoaster? What about building a bubble blowing machine? Check out Twinkl's brilliant array of fantastic engineering activities in English and Irish.
7. Mission Unstoppable!
Miranda Cosgrove (of iCarly fame) fronts this TV series all about the world of STEM, with the occasional science joke! It is exclusively licenced in Ireland for Engineers Week from 28 February to 5 March.

STEPS Engineers Week encourages young people, their teachers, and parents to explore the creative and limitless world of engineering and the diverse opportunities a career in the sector can offer.
This week-long campaign introduces primary and secondary school children to the diverse world of engineering is managed by the Engineers Ireland's STEPS programme and is funded by the Department of Education and Youth and industry leaders Arup, ESB, Intel and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).
