There's a taste of the plaster of Paris artform in studio in the video up top. This is Art Club! host has a closer look at how repetition and pattern are used in art. Taking inspiration from Japanese artist Yayoi Kasuma, Shane and his trusty art clubbers create their very own installation. Things are about to go dotty in Art Club!

Meet Grainne - a young lacemaker from Galway.

On This is Art Club! today...

We visit the art room at St Patrick's Cathedral Grammar School where students are busy creating lino prints inspired by the tiles found on the floor of St Patrick’s Cathedral. While Ross and his sidekicks take a trip to Emerald Park to explore the patterns of peacock feathers and get up close and personal with some lemurs.

We travel to Headford in Co Galway to meet a young lacemaker who is inspired by the intricate craft that has been made in her village for hundreds of years. Grainne shares with us her passion for lace why she likes to carry on this tradition.

And we catch up with young TIA! winner Iarla who loves to draw buildings. We sent him to Dungarvan Castle to see what patterns he could find in the ancient stonework.

This is Art Club! Thursdays at 5.30pm on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player.
