Let's go to an arty foam party on the streets of Cork City!

Last summer, at the Cork Midsummer Festival, bubbles and foam floated around the famous Shandon Bells as part of an amazing art installation called Island of Foam!

Watch the exclusive clip above, as This is Art Club! apprentice Ella helps German artist Stephanie Lüning and her team transform Cork's iconic Shandon district with multi-coloured foam art.

Stream This is Art Club! on RTÉ Player here!!

Like a DJ, Stephanie mixes the colours live. The performance lasts as long as there is color in the water barrels. and then it's gone forever.

Stephanie's work is famous for transforming spaces with mountains of rainbow coloured foam. Ella goes behind the scenes of this art installation and gets to help out in all stages of the creative process.

Sarah Bracken is in studio creating animation.

And there's so much more...

In This is Art Club! art studio we are looking at how artists incorporate movement and tension into their work. Artist Sarah Bracken joins us in studio to work on an art piece all about movement. She demonstrates an early form of animation known as a zoetrope.

Our young TIA! members create a series of hand drawn animations, together they help build their very own zoetrope which they use to bring their animations to life.

In Lismore, a group of young artists create large-scale art with charcoal and sticks.

The Big Top has inspired the works of many artists over the years. Artist-in-residence Ross Carvill goes on a visit to the circus to observe and try and capture the movement of the acrobats and performers.

Of course, after you watch the show we know that you will be keen to create and this is your friendly reminder to enter This is Art! 2024.

The all-island art competition is open to everyone from 0 to 18. Create, Snap and Upload your work to rte.ie/thisisart.

Tune in to This is Art Club! Thursdays on RTÉ2 & RTÉ Player.
