Brigit 2024 celebrates the spirit and legacy of the Celtic goddess Brigit and welcomes the first signs of Spring.

To celebrate, the Dublin festival is back for a third year with everything from walking tours to fairs, performances and workshops as we amplify the voices of all who embody the spirit of Brigit.

Here we have some fun family highlights where you can get hands-on to learn about the amazing woman.

Discover the street art of Dublin

Women in Street Art

Discover the stories behind some of Dublin's most iconic murals, graffiti, stickers, and paste ups and the incredible women artists behind the masterpieces. See the city from a new perspective as you stroll, sightsee, and snap selfies with these stunning pieces of street art.

Meeting Point: 3 Aston Place, Saturday, 3 February to Monday, 5 February at 2pm

Make a cloak at the Natiopnal Gallery of Ireland.

Brigid's Family Cloak: Family Drop-In Workshop

Join artist Ashleigh Downey to create an art-inspired version of Brigid's cloak using recyclable and sustainable materials. The drop-in workshop runs for two hours, and families with children of all ages can stay for as long (or as little) as you like.

Richmond Barracks Fair

Welcome Spring and celebrate Brigid's Day at this February Fair. Stop by and shop from women in business - artists, makers, social enterprises - attend a family-friendly workshop, indulge in locally sourced food and drink, and enjoy a variety of entertainment.

3 and 4 February 11am to 5pm - Richmond Barracks, Dublin 8

Celebrate light and paint your own picture.

Bright Lights Workshop

Ignite your creativity with the magic of photography in this light painting workshop, guided by talented photographer and educator Ben Malcolmson and inspired by the Celtic goddess Brigit. Light painting is the art form of using handheld lights to paint a picture or scene while the shutter of a camera is left open during a long exposure photograph.

Learn how to make a St Brigid's cross.

Brigid's Cross Demonstration at the National Botanic Gardens

Come and see the technique behind making the traditional Brigid’s cross with step-by-step guidance, using fresh rushes.

On 4 and 5 February 12pm and 2pm - National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin

Themed Tour: Féile Bhríde: History, Mystery and Magic

Discover the many tales associated with Brigid, her links with the ancient Festival of Imbolc, and spot signs of spring in the Gardens.
