On Wednesday, 12 April tune in to RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player at 7pm to find out who will be crowned Ireland's Young Filmmamaker of The Year.

There are so many amazing young Directors up for awards, and you can watch all 34 shortlisted films at the Fresh International Film Festival YouTube channel to pick your favourite. Will the judges agree?

Click here to see them now!

Not all the films are suitable for young kids, so please check with an adult first. Binge watch or dip in and out over the next few days, and make sure to share your favourite with friends and family and see if you've got what it takes to spot a future Oscar winner!

From pet pigs in Austria to life in refugee camps in Portugal, spooky happenings in Clare to family feuds in Kerry, a day in the life of a Ukrainian girl as war rages and the challenges of a North Korean defector.

There's live action, animation, documentaries, fiction and reality, among the 34 short film nominations for the 2023 IYFTYs are the unique stories and shared experiences of 7-18 year olds from Ireland and across the world.

These are short films made by young people, for young people, in their own voices.

Press play above to look back on last year's event where Seán Treacy took home the big prize. It was hosted by Stephen Byrne and Gemma Bradley and they will be back again on 12 April.
