This project helped to raise awareness about the damage and destruction caused by plastic pollution and involved the students signing a petition for their local politicians to campaign for more bins in the area.
There are lots of categories from biodiversity, climate change, energy, food, marine life and much more!
Now more than ever young people want to take action to help combat climate change and protect our natural environment. For over 35 years, ECO-UNESCO has been working to educate, inspire and empower young people to help to protect the natural environment.
Through participation in the Young Environmentalist Awards, groups of young people are supported and encouraged to become active global citizens who help address the many environmental issues affecting their communities and the natural world today.
It also gives young people the opportunity to come up with innovative solutions to environmental issues and increase awareness of these issues in their local communities.
