Thirty-three children, aged 7-12 years, from Music Generation Offaly/ Westmeath's Tullamore-based partner primary schools will join Singfest Regional Choirs, and together with friends and family have created this unique intergenerational choir who will sing on the night.
In preparation for Friday’s live broadcast, the choir members attended a rehearsal at the RTÉ Radio Centre, where they were greeted by the show's producers and arranger Gavin Murphy. The young singers were thrilled to experience performing with a live orchestra after weeks of practising at home.
And they had a surprise visit during their studio session from award-winning singer Tolü Makay. The young singers found out that Tolü attended the same Tullamore school as many of them. They performed the track together and you can tune in to see it live on Friday.
Join presenter Annie MacManus will host a very special evening of music, theatre, dance and spoken word live from the edge of Lough Boora in County Offaly. This Culture Night celebration of Ireland's unique boglands is presented by RTÉ, in association with the Arts Council.
Music Generation will be involved in great events all over the country to mark Culture Night.
