On social media everyone can hear you scream - with excitement!

This week, our resident space expert, Dr Niamh Shaw is at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in the USA and she gave us some behind the scenes action around the SpaceX Crew-3 launch!!

Unfortunately, due to poor weather and other issues the launch has been delayed TWICE.

You can still check out RTÉ Kids Instagram as Niamh did a stories takeover.

NASA and SpaceX now are hoping to launch on 6 November.

German ESA astronaut Matthias Maurer will soon begin his first mission to the International Space Station. He will be launched alongside NASA astronauts Raja Chari, Tom Marshburn and Kayla Barron.

Collectively known as Crew-3, the four astronauts will travel aboard the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft Endurance and dock to the Space Station around 22 hours after liftoff.

According to the ESA, Matthias selected the mission name "Cosmic Kiss" for his time in orbit as a declaration of love for space.

He will spend around six months living and working in microgravity, where he will carry out many European and international experiments to advance space exploration and benefit lives on Earth.
