Can you finish Áine's story?

Áine Ní Ghlinn is a bilingual journalist, children's writer, playwright and poet. Teaching creative writing  to all ages, she also leads workshops for teachers on irish language and literature. She is asking you to finish her story as part of The Twelve Stories of Christmas

She has been awarded many prizes for her writing and work in the Irish language, including most recently,  the Patrick Kavanagh Fellowship for poetry in 2019.

Her story starter is read by Máirtín Ó Dubhghaill up top in English and below in Irish. You can currently see him in the TG4 soap opera Ros na Rún.

Thanks to everyone who has written and read the stories, and we will say thanks in advance to everyone at home who will finish the stories.

You can watch and read all of The Twelve Stories of Christmas in English and in Irish by visiting Fighting Words and Graffiti Theatre Company. You can download the digital storybook there too!

Spreading holiday cheer is more important than ever this year, so fire up your imagination and create a new classic tale.

Why not read your finished stories on Christmas Day and if you want to ask an adult to share them just use #The12StoriesofChristmas.
