The Dublin Book Festival has been running since 2006 and this year, with Covid restrictions, they have needed to do things a little differently. But, that doesn't mean everyone can't join in!

Everything has moved online and you can see the full programme for kids and families HERE

We have picked out two really great online events suitable for Junior and Senior Infants.

The Dead Zoo with Peter Donnelly
Tomorrow at 10am we ask: What happens in the Natural History Museum at night? Are any of the animals actually alive? Who owns the museum?

Join author and illustrator Peter Donnelly and all of the four-legged, feathered and finned inhabitants of the Natural History Museum for some wild fun as he reads from his new book, The Dead Zoo (Gill Books).

Let your class go wild drawing some of the animals from the book in a draw-along with Peter afterwards.

This free event is in partnership with The Natural History Museum.

The Great Irish Farm Book
How many pigs are there in Ireland? How long does pregnancy last in horses? What is the most widely grown crop in Ireland?

On Sunday at 11am Darragh McCullough answers all of these questions and more in his new picture book, The Great Irish Farm Book (Gill Books).

Join Darragh and illustrator Sally Caulwell – along with some furry, four-legged friends – for this online event at Farmleigh Estate. In this event, you'll find out all sorts of crazy facts about farm animals, and you’ll also learn how to draw them by taking part in a draw-along with Sally.
