Julie Gould is a physicist-turned-science communicator with a love for all things radio. Whether it's the science of Jupiter, Schrodinger's Hat, Parkinson's disease, a freezer full of animal limbs for biomechanical studies or the science of science itself, over the last decade Julie's explored the story using sound.
As a full-time mum of three awesome kids, down-time is hard to come by, but when she gets it it's either spent exercising or with a cup of hot chocolate and her favourite podcasts. In a previous life Julie was an international swimmer, but now prefers the slides with her kids to the trips up and down the pool lanes!
Phil Smyth is a face all you After School Hub fans will know. He is an award-winning physicist and an engineer, loving all things weird, wonderful and explosive.
When not working, Phil goes to extremes to relax. This means you can find him flying around on a segway, jetski or a horse but not necessarily at the same time. He loves all sports and is probably a bit too competitive but he tries his best to hide it.
Video games, golf, scuba diving and LEGO are amongst his favourite things with him winning a national championship in one, although you'll have to guess which. His puns are the worst and the best which is the only reason that his wife puts up with him. Always eager to have a chat please do give him a shout!
