The official name for Slovakia is the Slovak Republic (SR) and it was founded on January 1 1993. Like Ireland they are a republic and a parliamentary democracy.
Igor Matovič is the Prime Minister who is a member of the Ordinary People party. There are 150 members in their Parliament and they serve for four years. The Current President is Zuzana Čaputová.

Tonight's match will be held in the capital city of Bratislava which has a population of around 420,000. The city is along the banks of the famous Danube River.
The Danube is the second-longest river in Europe (the Volga is the longest) and the longest river of the European Union at 2,860km.
Overall the entire country has 5.4 million people. Other regionals cities include: Trnava, Nitra, Trenčín, Žilina, Banská Bystrica, Prešov, Košice.
Before the match you will hear the Slovak anthem called Nad Tatrou sa blýska, which translates as Lightning over the Tatras.
The Tatras are the mountain range that form a natural border between Slovakia and Poland and our hosts have the highest mountain in the range. Gerlach Peak is 2,655m at the summit.
