Starting this week, RTÉjr Radio is delighted to present a brand new podcast called "Mothertongues".
It celebrates different cultures in Ireland, featuring kids who speak more than one language at home. And it encourages everyone to try out a few words!
On Monday, check out RTÉ Learn for an Iberian special as we look at Spanish and Portuguese to kick off the new series.
As the week goes on we'll also feature Xhosa, German, Czech, Polish and Tamil, but this is only the start. Over time the series will hopefully grow to include all the languages spoken in Ireland.
Check out the news2day report on the podcast with Sofia Hanrahan in the studio.
She speaks Spanish and English at home, and her Episode is available now.

Thanks so much to all the families who have taken part so far and to everyone at mothertongues.ie for helping connect the dots. They do amazing work and this is only a small addition to the help they give multilingual families across the country.
