Digital technology and the internet allow us to capture, record and remember important occasions in our lives and share them with our friends, family and wider community.

Even though we can't go to games right now lots of clubs and counties are streaming games and there are camera phones recording some really cool action.

BUT, not every game goes to plan and sometimes players make mistakes. It's all part of the game, but sometimes after the final whistle there can be problems...

In this video we meet Ryan who is playing in the schools final hurling competition. Later the footage of the match is posted online, this video gives us an opportunity to explore the emotions involved in cyberbullying.

If you are cyberbullied...

  • Don't reply to messages that upset or annoy you.
  • Keep the Message to show the person you report it to. Screenshot the message as evidence.
  • Block the Sender.
  • Tell an adult you trust who can help.

If you are involved in or encourage bullying online...

  • Say sorry to the person you hurt.
  • Think before you post online - how will this make other people feel?
  • It’s okay not to feel okay. But picking on someone because you are feeling upset or angry is not the right way to deal with these emotions.
  • Get help from a parent / school counsellor/ trusted adult and talk about how you can better deal with how you’re feeling.

The emotions involved in cyberbullying -  In this activity consider the emotions felt by the characters by filling in the faces/emojis to show how Connor and Ryan felt before, during and after the match.
