The internet is a great tool for helping us keep in touch with our friends and family. In this video the HTML Heroes, Archie and Ruby talk about the importance of being kind online and how to deal with any nasty or unwanted messages that we might get while being online.

In the video at the top of the article, with the key tips and the activity below we are going to tell you about cyberbullying. Learn how to identify it and how to deal with it. 

Key safety points:

Cyberbullying is using digital technology to hurt or bully someone deliberately. Digital technology can include devices such as a smartphone, computer, tablet, game console.

A cyberbully is anyone online who tries to humiliate, harass or exclude you.

● Always respect other people's feelings on the internet.

● If you are being cyberbullied follow these steps:

- Don’t reply to messages that harass or annoy you

- Keep the message as evidence 

- Block the sender

- Tell a parent, teacher or trusted adult

- Report problems to the app, game or website you are using.

This activity will help you identify the different types of bullying or harassment you can experience online.
