Making movies for kids by kids.

Kids in Ireland are always really creative and Young Irish Film Makers encouraged boys and girls around the country to make movies throughout the summer.
Keep an eye on RTÉ Learn where we will show you some of the films produced and meet the kids who made them...

Meet Caolán Lulias

While in isolation, Caolán took on one of the Young Irish Film Makers (YIFM) weekly filmmaking challenges. With a love for working as a team, Caolán managed to create a fantastic short called 'My Long Boring Day.'

Caolán enjoys acting, editing and working on sound. This film was shot in lockdown completely independently with nothing but his phone and a clever concept. Keep an eye out for the inventive framing and shot composition.

For anyone who wants to try making their own films at home, Caolán has some advice here...

Young Irish Film Makers (YIFM) is the national film, animation and digital media organisation for young people across Ireland.

Our mission is to make filmmaking and animation accessible to all young people. Anyone aged between 9 to 25 years can take part in one of our practical training workshops in schools, youth clubs, summer camps and residential programmes. Young people are empowered to work with professional equipment to make films, animation and digital media content.
