The Heritage Council has developed a brand new suite of online tutorials for children and their families and they are sharing them with us on RTÉ Learn.

In these short tutorials Heritage in Schools Specialists teach us about heritage on our doorstep, heritage skills for sustainable living, or explore some aspect of Ireland's educational heritage.

The resources are both fun and educational and are designed to inspire and develop an appreciation and curiosity about Ireland's wonderful built, natural and cultural heritage whilst promoting the sharing of experience and knowledge.

The new tutorials are all part of the build-up to Heritage Week 2020 from August 15th-23rd. Keep an eye on RTÉ Learn for more new resources.

The first tutorial, launched today, is presented by Heritage in Schools Specialist Michèle Castiaux and shows you how to make a biodiversity map of your garden.

Michèle's step by step tutorial demonstrates how to draw a biodiversity/habitat map of your garden so that you can record where the different garden species are located.

Your map can help you plan improvements to increase the biodiversity of your garden.
