With primary schools closed for the past few months, the team at Athletics Ireland have been continuing to promote The Daily Mile At Home to teachers, parents and children.

What is the Daily Mile all about?

The response has been hugely encouraging and The Daily Mile Team want to say a Big Thank You to all the children who continue to do The Daily Mile.

It's soon going to be holiday time, and we are encouraging children to continue to do The Daily Mile - walk or run - right throughout the summer holidays.

Let's see The Daily Mile in Action

Just before the holidays, we are offering children a chance to win a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal for an essay, poem or artwork. Children have 4 headings to choose from and we are requesting that teachers make the submissions.

  1. Friendship
  2. Kindness
  3. Generosity
  4. Gratitude

There are two age categories: 5 - 8 and 9 - 12 years. Please state age on your entry. Choose ONE of the topics above and ask your parent/guardian to email your essay (200/300 words), poem or artwork to: frank@thedailymile.ie

Kindness: the Emil Zatopek Story

Everyone who submits an entry will receive The Daily Mile Certificate of Merit. There are also Gold Silver and Bronze Medals to be won!

Stay Safe and Stay Active this Summer!

Best Wishes from The Daily Mile team
