Write your own poem or story, using similes. Remember you need to use "as" or "like" to make a simile. Don't forget to send your poems and stories to the RTÉ Home School Hub. We’d love to see them!
Here’s an example of a poem with similes that we made up just for you!
At 11am, as quick as fox,
I run to the room that has my telly box.
I flick on the channel, Homeschool Hub has begun,
And there's Múinteoir Clíona, as bright as the sun.Múinteoir Ray is great fun and makes me laugh like a clown,
Múinteoir John is as cool as a cucumber that never cools down!My eyes are glued to the screen, like a curious cat,
I’m learning new things, and my brain’s getting fat.
I’ll be as bright as a button, when I go back to school,
Like Einstein the genius, I’ll be far from a fool!
