Love To Listen

In today's lesson, you learned all about listening to sounds around you.  There are many magical sounds outside as well.

If you have a garden or an outside area why not pop outside, close your eyes and see what you can hear?  Are there birds singing and can you imitate their bird song? Do you hear traffic noises? Dogs barking? People talking?

You will discover that the world around you has a lot of musical sounds and different rhythms, if you take the time to listen carefully.

Sketch a song

1) Choose a song or chant with lyrics.

2) As you listen to the song and the words, start drawing the pictures or ideas that come into your head.

3) You can use all sorts of materials to create your picture if you have them at home - crayons, stickers, glitter glue, etc.

4) Sing along to the song as you draw, and try to learn the words if you haven't already!

5) Send your pictures to us if you like!  Details below.

Fun Fact

Did you know that bagpipes were not invented by the Scottish? The Romans were playing bagpipes long before the Scots started playing them. The bagpipes were made of sheepskin or a cow's stomach and a few hollow stalks to make pipes!
