Activity: Cé Atá Ann?
This game is for two players.
PREPARE THE GAME:
- Print three copies of the cards below.
- Each player will have one copy with all the celebrities on it.
- With the third copy, cut out each person, fold it over so you can't see who’s on it, and put it in a bowl.
- You should have 12 folded pieces of paper in the bowl after cutting them out.
- If you can’t print them out, why not make your own game, by drawing characters yourself? Make sure they’re coloured in though, or the game won’t work!
HOW TO PLAY:
- Each player has their sheet with all the celebrities on it in front of them and they pick one piece of paper each from the bowl.
- Player 1 begins by asking Player 2 a "Tá" / "Níl" question about Player 2's character.
- Here are some questions that might be helpful for playing the game, but try to make up your own as well:
- An bean/cailín í?
- An fear/buachaill é?
- An bhfuil gruaig rua/dubh/fionn/donn/liath air/uirthi?
- An bhfuil súile glasa/gorma/donna/liatha/dubha aige/aici?
- An bhfuil sé/sí ard?
- An bhfuil sé/sí íseal?
- An bhfuil sé/sí sean?
- An bhfuil sé/sí óg?
- An bhfuil sé/sí are an teilifís? -
If Player 2 says "Tá" then Player 1 can put a counter (or any small object) over the person/people they don't think it is, to narrow it down.
-
Player 2 then asks Player 1 a question, and it continues like that until a player has guessed correctly and won. You can limit the number of questions to make the game more difficult, for example, each player can only ask 5 ceist.
