Today is World IBD Day - it takes place on 19 May each year. IBD means inflammatory bowel disease, and it affects around 50,000 people in Ireland, causing stomach pain, fatigue and weight loss.
Press play on the image above to watch a great interview where news2day's Cathal Dowd was joined in studio by Finn Healy ahead of the day.
He is currently undergoing treatment for his condition. The youngster loves painting and music too.
Finn says: "IBD can affect my daily life by making me have to go to the bathroom or being in too much pain to go to stuff like school, hang out with friends and go to things like piano practice."
This year, IBD Day is set to highlight the role we can all play in supporting those with the condition, and Finn has some advice on how to help.
He says: "Well, I know it might not sound like a lot, but asking someone how they feel, but a condition like IBD means A lot. So, if you have a friend or family member, just ask them how they're feeling and try to help them if they're a bit irritated. And it takes a village."
This year, for IBD Day, Crohn's and Colitis Ireland's It Takes A Village campaign is set to highlight the role we can all play in supporting those with the condition.
