For one day only, there was a new boss at Patrician Primary School in Newbridge, Co Kildare. Second Class student Emilija got the golden ticket and won their Principal for a Day competition. She brought her sister Julija on as Deputy Principal and the sisters made a few changes. Needless to say, there was no homework!!

A curlew released in Co Leitrim two years ago has established a breeding territory in Sliabh Beagh, Co Fermanagh, marking the first recorded instance of a 'headstarted' bird returning to establish a breeding territory in Ireland. Shane Ó Curraighín has the story.
