The start of a new year can often be the time when people decide to try new things in their lives, and we at news2day were eager to hear about what some of your resolutions might be. Cathal headed out to see what the students were hoping to fix in 2026!

Over the weekend a massive international story broke. Deposed Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was brought to court in New York this afternoon to face drug charges. Meanwhile, it remains unclear who is really running the country.

Closer to home temperatures are dropping, but is snow falling where you are? A cold snap across Ireland and Europe has hit. Snow and ice warnings are in place and some schools are due to close.

Plus, we have a special report from RTÉ's Kate Varley who is in Bagladesh. She tells us how intensified monsoon floods, riverbank erosion and rising sea levels displace 700,000 Bangladeshis each year. This extreme weather is creating climate refugees who are coing to the city of Dhaka.
