The festive season is in full swing, especially for those in St Aidan's Senior National School and Loreto Beaufort High School who came together to enjoy a magical Winter Wonderland!

A new book aimed at promoting awareness about the importance of biodiversity is to be distributed to all primary schools in Co Carlow. Marc O'Driscoll tells us more.

The book - The Three Billy Goats Gruff of Carlow - also aims to educate young people about the practical ways in which they can help promote conservation and restoration. Carlow County Council said the book is the first of its kind to be entirely created in-house by a local authority.

The Blue Cross charity have tips on how to keep your pets calm, happy and safe over the Christmas holidays. Things like decorations and even food can be very dangerous for dogs and cats.

And we head to Washington where two panda bears are going head over heels with all the festive fun!

There's lots more content from the show, including an archive, on the news2day website!

Watch the last news2day before we break for Christmas tomorrow at 4.20pm on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player.
