Today is World Children's Day, which marks the date in 1959 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration on the Rights of the Child which outlines the rights or basic needs of children everywhere.
Here at home, over 1,000 schoolchildren from all over the country were at the Helix in Dublin where 6 young speakers took part in Child Talks, organised by the Ombudsman for Children's Office. Two of those speakers, 17 year old Aoibheann from Dublin and Kaleb from Kildare who's also 17 came to tell us all about it.
World Children's Day is a celebration of children's rights and one important right that every child has is the right to play. So Florence met with some playful patients from the Children's Health Ireland Crumlin Hospital who were exercising that right!
Ireland's MNT will take on Czech Republic in the FIFA World Cup play-off semi-finals, with Denmark or North Macedonia awaiting in the final, which would be in Dublin if the Boys in Green progress.
And we have another report from RTÉ News' George Lee from COP30 in Brazil.
There's lots more content from the show, including an archive, on the news2day website!
