The importance of natural history was a key part of this year's Samhain agus Science festival, organised by the Dublin Institute of Advanced Studies. The festival, which has been running over the last two weeks, hopes to get people talking about science and Ireland's Celtic history, through fun and accessible events. So, Cathal went down to the Dead Zoo Lab in Dublin to hear more about it!
There were lots of big stories making headlines when we were all on our mid-term break. Florence is here to get everyone caught up. Catherine Connolly was elected the 10th President of Ireland. Jamaica and other Caribbean countries were hit by a massive storm - Hurricane Melissa.
There's lots more content from the show, including an archive, on the news2day website!
Watch news2day weekdays during the school term at 4.20pm on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player.
