Presidential Election 2025: Meet the candidates with news2day

On Friday, voters will cast their ballots to elect the 10th President of Ireland.

Two people are standing and looking for votes. They are Independent TD Catherine Connolly and Heather Humphreys from Fine Gael. On Monday and Tuesday of this week, news2day gave young people the chance to hear from them.

On Monday's show Catherine Connolly said that she felt the excitement from young people about this Presidential Election when she was on the road. And she looks forward to hearing from you in the future.

Then on Tuesday, Heather Humphreys was on the show. She was in her old school and told all the young people watching to believe in yourselves and if you want to do something - go for it!

The President of Ireland (Uachtarán na hÉireann) is Ireland's Head of State and is elected for a term of seven years.
